I found this image with a Google search. It was too wild not to share.

When I started thinking about the relation between the Bible, theology, and my personal weight loss journey, I had a friend say to me:

“Just don’t say, ‘Your body is a temple.’ Everyone’s done that angle to death.”

Fair enough. But what if the same idea turns out to be far stranger and more interesting than is usually let on?

What if, instead of stopping with Paul’s “Your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit” (1 Cor 6:19), we followed the thread all the way to Revelation — and found you and your Spirit-filled body described there as part of the New Jerusalem, the heavenly city coming down out of heaven within God’s new creation (Rev 21–22)? How might that change how we think about our bodies?

Intrigued? Read on.
